During Emma's three year stay at Cresson San, it is likely that she spent about two
and a half years of that time in the Women's East Wing Ward and Surgery Unit where she had a lung removed. The one
rule in the ward was maximum bed rest, so patients spent 24/7 in their pajamas, bathrobe and slippers. Their furnishings
consisted of a bed, nightstand and chair.
