The Medical Director was required to submit monthly and yearly reports
summarizing the operations of the Cresson Sanatorium. These reports were submitted to the Bureau of Tuberculosis Control
in Harrisburg, Pa. Copies of five of these reports have been obtained. The reports have two basis sections:
(1) a written section describing the activities of the staff and employees and (2) tables of statistical data concerning patient
care and hospital operations. These reports are like time capsules giving us a glimpse into the people and activities at
the sanatorium. As luck would have it, several of these reports were written in 1955 and 1956, the two years that I was
a patient in the sanatorium and so I was there to witness some of these events .
